3053'S REVIEW :D WEEK 3
Summary of my reading:
After many days that Inman decided to run away from the hospital. He came back to his hometown, the Appalachian mountains before he arrived there. In the nighttime, he stopped by for taking some snaps, and on a new day in the afternoon, he kept all of his stuff; especially the gun, by rolling inside the blanket. After Inman finished his task, he went to the store in the village, but before he entered the shop, he noticed two men, one with a hat and an expensive gun and another one was hatless. Fortunately that he could buy his foodstuffs without any obstruction. A while after that Inman arrived at the edge of the town, he found the two men again, but they seem to get drunk and started to attack Inman first. Unfortunately, Inman was the one who had passed the war, so it was not a hard thing to beat those guys.
Outside the town, he returned to the wood and continued on the way to his hometown. Then one thought was running through his head, the day that he saw Ada for the first time. Back then before he attend the army, he heard so much about Ada and her dad, Monroe, these two took a lot of amusement among the silent mountains. One Sunday morning Inman dressed perfectly to went to the church with a special purpose. On that day, it had rained and the road was muddy, so he arrived late and had to sit at the back. Among the crowd, he couldn’t see anyone, but the one that he could recognize was her, Ada, the hidden purpose for his attending the church. After Monroe finished his words. Inman could feel that Ada was a girl that many people were impressed by her; he could know it from a man who was beside him in the church with the same purpose as him. After Inman realized that he walked away toward Sally Swanger and asked her to introduce himself to Ada, and then Mrs. Swanger gave them the chance to have their private conversation.
Now, late in the night, Inman was running a rough road along the banks by his bare feet. A minute later he saw the light ahead near the gorge that he was heading to it, as he approached the light, he saw that a man was standing on the road, holding a lamp. Inman was walking quietly closer to that man and stopped behind the rock. He saw the man wearing black clothes and a white shirt and holding the horse with the rope. In the light, Inman could see that the horse carried something white. Then that man walked to the horse, lifting that white thing from the back of the animal, and brought it into the dark edge of the gorge like a dead pig. Inman could see it was a woman, and she seem unconscious. Inman tried to stop him by pointing his gun at that man, letting the man walk leading Inman and the sleeping woman back to her house. While they were walking, Inman and the man were having a conversation and found out that that man was a preacher. After they arrived at her house, Inman tied the preacher’s neck to the tree. And after that Inman gently carried the woman into her home and put her on the bed. Finishing the main duty, he came back to the preacher, taking revenge for the woman who almost got killed by writing the story that they were talking about a moment ago. Even though the preacher could guess what the thing in the writing was, he still couldn’t do anything except kick Inman by his feet.

My opinion:
In this unit, I love the mood in which the writer describes how Inman missed Ada by using the “Setting” when their first meeting. And I also like the rising action part that Inman found the preacher was doing something inappropriate with the woman, also the plot of the conversation of them when they were talking while walking to the village, this part makes the reader know what is the character of the preacher by not described to us directly but trying to tell us in their dialog instead.
